A little about me bear with me...there is a point to this
Hi , I’m Simon Love the owner of City Painting Services. I started painting 28 years ago in the Clarence Valley up on the North Coast . In that area most of the work was either exterior repaints of weatherboard houses or new interior work on project homes (lots of gyprock and in those days stained timberwork).
I then spent a few years in Canberra working for a big painting company.Among other things I worked on the new Parliament House,the National Convention Centre, some of the embassies and also a few large shopping centres and office blocks.
After a short time working in Darwin and a year or so in Sydney I headed back up to the North Coast and set up my own business. For many years nearly all my work was NSW government work contracted through the Department of Public Works.From Coffs Harbour to the Qld border I’ve painted high schools ,primary schools , hospitals, nursing homes,jails, remand centres, police stations ,government offices, ambulance stations and probably things I can’t even remember now.
Eventually I bought a property up in the Tweed Valley and from there I also started contracting on the Gold Coast.After working with smaller building companies I ended up working with some of the biggest companies such as ADCO and Sunland (they built Q1 ,worlds tallest residential highrise ) doing everything from beachfront mansions to large apartment complexes , multi-story offices and a complete repaint of Bond University
In 2005 I returned to Sydney to start a new business .The point of this story is ..(if you’re still with me)..that if you need any painting work done, then no matter what the job there is a good chance that I not only have the skill to do it for you ,but also to do it well.
Type of Work
We mainly focus on domestic /residential work as well as offices and strata /body corp work and try to avoid builders work, I find you meet a nicer type of person that way(no offence to all you builders out there)
In reality we can probably do any type of work you can mention.All interior and exterior painting to any kind of building from a small unit to a city office block . We can also do texture ,stipple and other specialised finishes as well as hanging wallpaper. We can patch and repair damaged and peeling ornate ceilings and any other weathered or peeling surfaces. We can do concrete spalling(concrete cancer) repair and if you have any ugly off form concrete walls or ceilings we can make them look beautiful for you. If you have a unit with old grey looking vermiculite ceilings we can even make them look fresh and new. We are happy to do smaller jobs as well as more substantial work.
Also if you have any minor repairs that need doing ..such as a little bit of tiling or plastering or carpentry work..we can do that for you while we are there and it will probably be easier and cheaper than trying to get someone else in to do it.
Licensing and Insurance
City Painting Services are fully licensed and insured painting contractors.We are licensed as Painters and Decorators in NSW and the licence number is 45484c. You can confirm this or any other trade or building contractors licence by going to https://www.licence.nsw.gov.au We are also fully insured with all required cover for Public Liability, Workers Compensation and Personal Income Protection. If you are having work done by a contractor it's worth remembering that even if they supply you with insurance policy numbers it means nothing unless they can give you a Certificate of Currency from the relevant insurance company. If they can't do that then you should probably consider getting another contractor.
